Champions of Sport

The sports sector in India has witnessed a number of recent developments, which have contributed to its significant growth. In light of India’s stellar performance at the Asian Games 2018, we at the Times Group are confident of our nation’s ascendance among the upper echelons of the top sports-playing nations.

While at the frontline we have our national contingent of heroes, there are the few discrete enablers who have played a very important role in positioning a dynamic support system. These enablers have been at the vanguard, dared to be different and have gone above and beyond to support a cause, which is of national importance. The upward growth trajectory in India’s sports ecosystem can be credited to these enablers or rather ‘Champions of Sports’, without which it would be an opposite extreme.

At The Times of India – Global Sports Show 2018, as we decode the nuances of our nations sports spectrum, we believe it is also the right time to acknowledge some of the top brands, foundations and personalities to be recognised as the leaders who embedded growth in India’s sports economy.

There are game changers who have not only altered the current scenario, but have also determined the future course of action which has played an important role in elevating the culture of Sports in India. These leaders are not only the best at what they do but have also been successful in creating a wave of change, making them role models for the masses.
